Delete your account

Account deletion is handled by the Portant team rather than from a button in the app, so that we can check the account is not still carrying a subscription or shared team workflows.

Before you ask us to delete

Once an account is deleted we cannot restore it, so check these first.

  1. Cancel any paid subscription. Deleting an account does not automatically end billing. See Cancel your subscription.
  2. Save anything you need. Generated documents live in your own Google Drive or OneDrive and stay there, but your workflow configuration does not survive deletion.
  3. Check whether anyone else relies on your workflows. If you own workflows a team still uses, hand them over first: see Transfer team ownership.
  4. Consider whether you actually want a transfer. If you are moving to a new email address rather than leaving, an account transfer keeps your workflows: see Request an account transfer.

Request deletion

Open a support ticket or email contact@portant.co from the address on the account, and tell us you want the account deleted.

Asking from the account's own email address is what lets us act on it quickly.

Remove Portant's access to your Google account

Deleting your Portant account does not remove the permission you granted Portant in Google. Revoke it separately:

  1. Open the Google permissions page.
  2. Search for Portant.
  3. Choose Delete all connections that you have with Portant, then Confirm.

This is worth doing even if you are only pausing your use of Portant, and it is the step that stops a disconnected account causing errors later.

Data deletion requests

If you are making a formal data deletion or erasure request, including under GDPR, send it to contact@portant.co and say so explicitly. Tell us the account email address and, if it differs, the address to reply to.

For what we store and how, see the privacy policy.
