Portant Docs

Documents per month

Every Portant plan includes a number of documents per month. This page explains what that number means and what draws it down.

What each plan includes

Plan Documents per month
Free 30
Pro 2,000
Team 5,000

Enterprise plans are set individually. Current pricing is on the pricing page.

The allowance resets each month. On a team, it is pooled across the team rather than counted per person.

What counts as a document

One document is one generated output. That includes:

  • Every document an automation creates, including one per row or per record when a workflow runs over many at once.
  • Documents you generate while testing or previewing a workflow.
  • Documents created as part of a signature request.

It is worth knowing that test runs count. Building and checking a workflow over a handful of records is normal, and on the Free plan's 30 documents that can use a meaningful part of the month's allowance before you go live. Test with one or two records at a time while you set things up.

Watch out for running over many rows at once

Manually running an automation across a large selection of source rows generates a document for each one, which behaves much like auto-create even when auto-create is switched off. If your usage jumps unexpectedly, this is the first thing to check.

See Auto-create from Google Sheets and Workflow filters for how to limit what a run picks up.

When you reach the limit

Automations will not start if running them would take you past your remaining allowance, so a workflow can stop firing before the month ends. To carry on, either wait for the reset or upgrade your plan.
